Our Story
Temitope Oladipupo Falaye is a Nigerian born Bespoke Tailor and Fashion Designer who is popularly known by his design name Temi-Falaye Couture. The design name trades under the TEMI-FALAYE LTD, a registered company in the U.K. known for Bespoke Tailoring Fashion Outfits.
He began training out of passion at the age of 15 when he joined his uncle’s business with a view to expanding the business repertoire to embrace more modern-day designs which was fast becoming a trend as a result of evolving fashion/dress sense and also the quest to stay ahead of the trend to be able to adequately cater to the cosmopolitan and high-brow society at large.
Using mainly African hand-woven materials, he brought to life a range of distinct cultures while contemporizing almost-lost traditional African techniques and this led to the advent of his first designer label name which was called T2Perfection. He had started gaining popularity and was gradually becoming a household name in Nigeria, but he wasn’t satisfied with the small wins and wanted more. This led to his sojourn into the United Kingdom fashion industry.
His arrival in London required him to fine-tune his skills and his passion took over again and off he went to enrol at Newham College, London and was posted to the famous Savile Row in central London, known principally for its traditional bespoke tailoring.
The college was really awed and impressed with his creative abilities. Hence, he was encouraged and given the opportunity to host his first Fashion Show as a way to show off his creative works to the community.
He just can’t seem to stop acquiring knowledge fashion-wise as he always feels the need to stay in tune with the trend, which is why he is also currently studying at the University of Art, London.
Temi-Falaye Couture his second designer label name is well known for uncanny attention to details, expert handling of a diverse range of fabrics, a large sense of ingenuity and innovativeness as well as the exemplary grasp of a wide range of body types irrespective of the gender.
Services offered for males and females range from bespoke tailoring for suits, shirts, trousers, and traditional attire, blending both European and traditional African styles, which can be blended into a mix of cultures. The popular slogan at Temi-Falaye Coutures goes “ïf you can wear it, we can make it…..”
He took it a notch higher last year by hosting his second Fashion Show to showcase his craft titled: IPINLE (a name associated with “root/heritage” in his native Yoruba Language). The highly attended fashion show was staged at The Tabernacle at Powis Square, London, during the Black History Month Celebrations in the year 2022.
Besides fashion designing, he also offers Training and Mentorship Classes to people of all ages. He is gradually looking at building structures and capacity back home in Nigeria to further strengthen the Temi-Falaye Couture Brand Name & Identity. He is also involved with several charities and non-profit organisations across Nigeria
